A bit About Me

I am a dog obsessed portrait artist & illustrator originally from South Wales.

I studied illustration at The University of the West of England, Bristol and moved to London shortly after graduating.

Here in the 'Big Smoke' I was dog-less with only dreams of one day having a dog of my own.

Pico arrived in our lives as if by magic, fully formed and fully trained at the age of two.  Casual dog-sitting lead to full time adoption and inevitably everything was soon all about dogs!

My passion for pets seeped into my love of art and Woof Portraits was born.  I had found my calling/bark.

Where I Work

I am really lucky to have a studio at Bow Arts in a converted Convent building, in East London.  It was a life-line through lockdown and is my little sanctuary.  Slowly but surely it is becoming a small jungle of house plants!

Pico is excellent company.  Between naps he reminds me to take regular screen breaks in the park and tickle his belly.  In winter he doubles up as a very effective hot-water bottle.

My portraits are inspired by screen printing and are built up in many layers of colour and detail.   I use an iPad to draw each portrait.  The pen is highly sensitive and allows me to add my unique flair to the artwork.

The final portrait is printed on beautiful Enhanced Matte Art paper using museum quality Giclée printers.  The details and colours are amazing and thei personalities really shine through!

Loves of my life!

First there was Sweep, the dog of my childhood.  The most stereotypical terrier you could possibly imagine.

Then came a long Maggie (or Margaret when she was naughty).  We rescued her as a puppy, abandoned in the snow.

Then of course, Pico!  The biggest Yorkie you'll ever meet.

Together we are quite the team!
